    The client had lived here eleven years and wanted to stop apologising for the kitchen. We moved one wall, which is usually the answer, and left everything else where it was.

    What we kept

    The floor, the doors and the crooked window reveal on the north side. Replacing them would have cost more than the rest of the job and made the flat younger than it is.
